Request opportunities
When press are actively looking for a product, comment, experience or opinion for a feature, we list it as a ‘Request opportunity’, also known as a ‘Press & journo request’ or 'reactive PR'.
Good to knows:
- Only respond if you have something relevant to send.
- Responding to reactive opportunities have a high coverage rate as the press are working on the feature at that exact moment and requests are specific.
- That said, most PR activity is proactively pitching (using the ‘Outreach opportunities’) rather than responding to reactive press requests.
- As soon as a ‘Request opportunity’ is done, we will remove it and therefore there will never be many showing at one time.
- They turnover quickly so we recommend checking twice a week.
- To add a ‘Request opportunity’ to ‘Pitches’, hit the star to add to ‘Saved’ first and then add to ‘Pitches’ from ‘Saved’.
- You don’t need to say you came from PR Dispatch – it doesn't add weight to your pitch.
- No follow-up email is required for ‘Request opportunities’.
